Herning Fair 2025

After a long and enjoyable weekend at the trade fair in Herning, we can look back and say "it was worth it!". After a lot of interaction and positive feedback, our Danish guests also had the chance to win an Apeldörer prize. At the wheel of fortune of NordicGolfer, our Scandinavian partner travel agency, there was the opportunity to win a one-night stay, including golf, breakfast and dinner at Gut Apeldör.

A young Danish woman had luck on her side and was able to secure the prize. We are delighted for the recognizably lucky winner and can't wait to welcome her here in Apeldör!

Congratulations!

Biike Brennen 2025

It's sad to think that 21.02.25 was the last time a biike burning was allowed to take place at Gut Apeldör. But that's the way it is when regulations prohibit it. The Biike burning is a so-called traditional bonfire and this is indisputably true for North Frisia, but not for Dithmarschen. We now have enough time to think about whether and when we will repeat this successful event next year under a different name.

Once again, it was an atmospheric evening. After a welcome with punch and mulled wine, the 116 participants, equipped with torches and led by 15 Dithmarsch hunting horn players, made their way to the bonfire site, where the large fire was already blazing. Our greenkeepers Nico Habeck and Dirk Süsens had thankfully planned ahead so that the flames were already 10 meters high when the guests arrived.

Afterwards, we enjoyed kale in the manor house, accompanied by musical interludes from the hunting horn players. It was great and if it was the last time, we will remember the Apeldörer Biike-Brennen fondly.

DISOCOFOX DANCE COURSE

Dear Diane!

How quickly 7 weeks go by. The "final ball" with a total of 10 couples was amazing. All the dancers had dressed up, given their all once again and prepared an unforgettable evening for us. We were asked to briefly perform each of our standard dances. We were happy to do so. Wolfgang had distributed white slips of paper beforehand. Harald and I assumed that they would serenade us. Far from it. After we had given a brief insight into the standard dances, everyone turned the paper over. It had a "1" written all over it. That was so, so beautiful and a real goosebump moment. We also received a voucher from everyone for a dinner at Apeldör. We'll come to you and let you spoil us.

Conclusion: at the end of the evening, everyone gave us a big hug, thanked us and said that they would like to continue. God willing and if we stay healthy, we will be happy to continue the dance story next year.

Of course, we would also like to thank you very much. Your organization, the calmness you radiate and also for the music help. Please give a big compliment from us to the kitchen. Everything we ate at your place tasted very, very delicious.

Best wishes from Sarzbüttel from

Harald and me, Heidi

UPDATE 7

Dear Apeldör family, dear guests,

The start of the 2025 golf year feels good! The weather is helping, especially as the first 7 weeks of the year made golf possible. When
was the last time our 27 golf courses and greens were mowed at the beginning of February? More than 100 tee times were booked on the weekend before last - great!

And it wasn't boring at the Gutshof either: murder mystery dinner (fully booked), tapas evening (fully booked), kitchen party (fully booked), dance course (fully booked), Valentine's dinner (fully booked) and another highlight on February 21: the Biike burning.

The Biike burning

Last chance for 4 places - maybe next Friday will be the last time?

Valentine's Day

The manor house and conservatory truly looked like something to fall in love with. Our restaurant manager Diane and her team had lovingly decorated all the tables.
decorated. Candlelight created a wonderful, warm ambience, which visibly supported the idea of the evening. 72 guests were full of praise for the atmosphere, menu selection and once again the friendly service of the Apeldör team.

Four likeable Apeldörers who were certainly no less in love after this Valentine's evening.

Good-looking, friendly and very competent - Diane Litte, our restaurant manager.

The catering team is looking for reinforcement

We all know that it is difficult to find employees in the catering industry. But perhaps there are one or two interested people among our members, their families or in their extended circle of acquaintances. For the season from April to October, we are looking for reinforcements for the service team. It doesn't have to be a 5-day week, but 2-3 days a week would be good. It is also possible without professional training in the catering or hotel industry. Friendliness, politeness, a keen eye and a confident manner are more important. Diane would be very pleased to receive a call (04836 99600) or an e-mail little@apeldoer.de. We would like to maintain the friendly service for all of you.

Regular users will have noticed this long ago. The appearance and structure of our website have changed. It is the joint work of a professional team, which was "fed" with ideas and input from two talented young employees from Apeldör and Red Golf. Joshua Bohling and Louisa Gebauer have been creative and hard-working and have created a well-structured, logical layout.

COURSE OPENING ALL 27 HOLES

Dear Apeldör family,

Good news is rare in these times.

Not so with us. Our greenkeepers have done everything they can to keep our course playable for you in winter. We have already seen the results in the last few weeks and months. The fairways and greens are freshly mown and the visual impression really makes you want to play golf.

From now on we want to open all 27 holes daily from 10:30 a.m. and thus suspend the previous winter rules. Come to your club and enjoy the good weather and relaxed golf on summer greens. Unfortunately, trolleys are not yet permitted.

Our “Heidi” will bake extra delicious cakes, so that our terrace invites you to take a little break, whether after a round of golf or as a relaxing weekend.

Starting times: To ensure that everyone can play fairly, players will start from all 1st tees (red, yellow and green) for 9 holes each. Please book your starting time via PC Caddie. A second starting time is required for a further 9 holes. We plan to keep this rule as long as the weather permits.

Have fun!

The first kitchen party at Apeldör

Kitchen party “our way” on 24.01.25

How did this happen?

At the beginning of 2024, the service and kitchen team got together. They wanted something new. All the suggestions from the teams were compiled and worked out. The idea: to work together with our partners. It was a team decision! Last Friday, 115 guests were able to experience the result. The motto of our kitchen party: fewer seats than guests, so that everyone can keep moving and make new contacts. Socializing is a top priority!

Managing Director Manfred Rathsack and Restaurant Manager Diane Little opened the evening with a welcome address in which the individual Life Stations were introduced. The highly motivated Apeldör service team, the "Dithmarscher Brauerei" and "Getränke Tadsen" provided a wide variety of drinks. From "Long Island Ice Tea" to "Hoptails", an exquisite selection of wines including expertise and much more, no wish remained unfulfilled. Our well-prepared kitchen team, "Feinkäserei Sarzbüttel", Krabben und Fisch aus Tönning (KFT), two sushi masters from "Go by Steffen Henssler" and our apprentice Laura spoiled the guests at our Life Stations with delicious gratinated cheese, cheese skewers, fish variations, shrimp cocktails, kale, homemade pulled pork burgers, sushi, waffles and Heidi's cake. There was everything from home cooking to extravagant dishes.

For “non-golfers” there was the opportunity to learn more about golf and club life from Ralf Schill and also to secure a trial course.

In a relaxed atmosphere and in a good mood, great conversations were had. From 9 p.m. onwards, DJ Frank Möller got the guests going. People danced and laughed until the early hours. Going home was only one option. Our hotel manager Martina Wagenknecht had taken precautions and reserved and offered the entire hotel for our guests at a top price so that they could enjoy the evening to the full, which was gladly accepted.

Our conclusion:

A successful evening! A culinary journey for the eyes and the palate with a good atmosphere, lots of conversation and an exuberant party. This is exactly how we imagined the kitchen party.

Many thanks to our partners at the Life Stations, our guests and DJ Frank Möller. You made the evening great. We are very satisfied.

Your Apeldör team

First experiences with the winter track sequence

POSITIVE!!! We were surprised ourselves at how well the new drainage systems did their job. Last week it was 84 liters and the pitch and the drained paths "swallowed" this amount of rain much better than expected.

The comments from our members were surprisingly positive, including for the combination of the 10 courses:

Start RED 1,2,9 continue on GREEN 1,2,3,8,9 Finale on YELLOW 1&9

As soon as the weather conditions allow, we will continue – even in the winter months. However, we want to prevent the construction machinery from putting too much strain on the site.

THE FLAGPOLE

An object that has occupied us for years in many different ways. Until now, it was simply a question of "To use or to leave in?", but now the variety of bale removal after the small ball has been pocketed is a slightly annoying topic.

Some bend down and try to "fish" the ball out of the narrow border between the edge of the hole and the flagpole with two fingers. Risk of injury to the edge of the hole: HIGH

In order to avoid serious orthopedic injuries when bending over, we have purchased advanced flagpoles with a small integrated plate, which allows the ball to be removed at arm height by lifting the flagpole. It really couldn't be more comfortable, and yet the method of removing the flagpole is often adventurous.

The flags are too often "torn out" slightly at an angle and unconsciously and certainly unintentionally. Risk of injury to the perforated edge: VERY HIGH

Just pull it vertically upwards and everything will be fine!

Let's get to the point: Whether with a flag or without a flag - please be a little more sensitive with the hole edge when removing the golf ball. A sharp hole edge helps each of us when putting! Around 40% of your shots on an 18-hole round are putts!
